Market entry and ground execution in Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda and Ethiopia. We meet your buyers face to face, check whether they actually pay, and sit beside you during negotiations.
A company registration certificate proves a company exists. It does not prove it has a warehouse, a distribution network, or a habit of paying on time.
Most export losses in Africa trace back to a single omission. Nobody visited the buyer.
We stand in their premises. We see whether there is stock or an empty shed. We meet the owner. We ask other traders in that market whether he pays. We look at whether the trucks actually exist.
None of that can be done from a desk in India, or from a database. It requires someone being there.
We don't consult. We execute across East Africa.
East Africa Ventures helps exporters execute on the ground across Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda and Ethiopia.
Our team brings deep regulatory knowledge and a powerful ground network across Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda and Ethiopia.
We work with clients across pharmaceuticals, agri-commodities, rice and spices, industrial and electrical equipment, textiles, and climate and ESG projects - from first-time exporters to listed companies and a national cooperative export body.

Already found a buyer in East Africa and want to be certain before you ship?
We visit that buyer on your behalf. We see their premises, assess whether there is genuine stock and storage, meet the owner, check trade references, ask other traders in that market whether they pay, and confirm the business actually operates as claimed.
You receive a written report with photographs and our honest assessment — including a recommendation not to proceed, where that is warranted.
Fee: USD 250 to 350 per buyer, depending on location and depth of verification.
Where an order proceeds following our verification, a commission applies on the shipment value, agreed in advance. No retainer, no long commitment — one buyer, one visit, one honest answer.
It is rarely the duty.
Regulated goods entering Kenya, Tanzania and Uganda require a Certificate of Conformity, issued in India before shipment, through inspection agencies appointed by the national bureaux of standards - KEBS in Kenya, TBS in Tanzania and UNBS in Uganda.
Ship without it and Tanzania applies a penalty of 15 percent of CIF value. Consignments can be re-exported or destroyed at the exporter's cost.
Import duties are published and predictable. You can calculate them and price around them. It is everything else that catches exporters out - certification, product registration timelines, documentation that differs between neighbouring countries, and buyers who look convincing on email and then do not pay.
Knowing this in advance is part of what we do.
Jebel Ali is not the final destination for a great deal of cargo. It is a hub. Goods arrive, are consolidated, and move onward to Mombasa and Dar es Salaam.
Which means many Indian exporters are already reaching East African consumers without knowing it. The difference is that a Dubai intermediary earns the African margin, and the exporter never learns who the end buyer actually is.
Going direct changes three things. You capture the margin currently sitting with the intermediary. You know who your real customer is. And you can build the relationship rather than rent it.
Kenya, Tanzania and Uganda are connected by road. The distance from where you already sell to where you could sell directly is shorter than it looks.
A journey of impact across East Africa — moments that define who we are.
Four sectors driving the region's transformation — and your entry points into each.
East Africa's agricultural sector remains largely untapped. Kenya avocado exports have tripled in 3 years. Ethiopian coffee commands premium global prices. With 60% of arable land uncultivated and a growing export infrastructure, agribusiness presents one of the highest-ROI opportunities on the continent.
Nairobi has attracted $1.2B in venture capital in 2025 alone. M-Pesa pioneered mobile money globally. The Konza Technopolis smart city is operational. East Africa's tech ecosystem spans fintech, agritech, healthtech and e-commerce — with deep talent pools and improving connectivity across Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda and Ethiopia.
East Africa's tourism industry generates $5.2B annually with 12% year-on-year growth. The Serengeti, Maasai Mara, Kilimanjaro, and Zanzibar beaches attract high-value visitors. Opportunities span luxury lodges, adventure tourism, cultural experiences, and tourism technology platforms.
Ethiopia's 16 industrial parks and Kenya's Export Processing Zones offer duty-free manufacturing with COMESA market access. Global brands have established manufacturing here. Low labour costs, improving infrastructure, and trade agreements make this a compelling nearshoring alternative to South and Southeast Asia.
Yes. We take you there, meet your buyers face to face, verify their premises and support you during negotiations. Ground presence is central to how we work.
Reports describe the barriers. Presence gets past them.
